the camden series | #10

My little Camden,

I have to tell you that I’m looking at the calendar and slightly freaking out.  Because in just a few weeks, you’ll be a full-fledged 2 year old.  I wish I could begin to convey just how much we adore you…just how much you’ve made our lives better – in every single way over these last two years.  We see things differently because of you…we take the time to enjoy things because of you…we get to experience the world in a completely new light because of you.  Watching you grow and change each day is something that truly amazes me.  Seeing you become your own person is just about the coolest thing ever.  The way you speak and laugh and create is something that I always want to remember because I’m watching you become someone truly special.

This past month you went to Charleston for your 2nd annual beach trip.  You loved it.  You splashed in the ocean, blew bubbles on the beach, and spent hours upon hours running up and down the shore.  You ate fried shrimp for the first time and actually liked it.  You saw an endless number of turtles and you even fed them too!  We watched as you started putting together 2 and 3 word sentences. We even watched as you figured out how to climb right on out of your pack-n-play. You are clever and incredibly fearless.  I love that about you…and it scares me to death! But I know it’s all building a bigger picture of who you are going to be.  Minus the temper tantrums, your first two years have been an incredibly wild, crazy, and beautiful ride.

As you’re turning two in a few short weeks, I feel like I’m truly saying goodbye to baby Camden.  I look at you now and see a boy who is full of energy and life and so many laughs and smiles.  While I adored every second of your baby days, I’m in awe of the boy you’re becoming.  You make our world a better place.

I love you,

Mommy.
