I’m a firm believer in less is more. If you were to look in my closet, you’d know exactly what I meant. (You’d probably also feel really bad for me, but we’ll save that for another blog post.) But less is more isn’t just for closets, jewelry, or desserts. Quite honestly, it applies to photography as well.
The thing I fall in love with time and again is the simplicity of a photography session. I’ve never been one for major fanfare. Pomp and circumstance can be saved for New Years Eve in Times Square. I believe that the beauty of meaningful photographs is in the moments being captured. It’s in the giggle or a silly face that only your 6 year old can make. It’s in the way your son and husband are nothing short of twins even if there is a 3 foot height difference. It’s in the way you brush your son’s hair out of his eyes. Or the way your babies show how much they do in fact love each other. These moments happen. Every single session. And it’s this magic that is beautiful, heartfelt, and simple.
