Last spring my sister called to tell me she’d booked a wedding for me. Between the moments of utter excitement and exhilaration were moments of sheer panic. I’d never shot a wedding before let alone assisted or second shot one. You can imagine the terror I felt as my amazing sister told me the good news. But if my sister and the bride had faith in me, I knew I had to have faith in myself. So I began annoying my amazing photographer friend, Amanda, to let me basically just follow her around a wedding and try to pick up nuggets of advice, words of wisdom and just watch her in action. She kindly obliged and graciously allowed me to assist her. It was a tremendous experience that left me wanting to learn more. So in July, she was nice enough to let me tag along once more. I hung on her every word…everything technical nugget she had to offer up, I soaked it in hoping that I could eventually use it for my friend, Jennifer’s, wedding. Needless to say I did.
I’ve known Jennifer for years. She and my sister have been co-workers and friends for what seems like forever so for me to be a part of this wedding was something so incredibly special. Jennifer is sweet, kind, giving, and hilarious. And I knew her wedding / reception was going to be exactly the same. And it was. From the stunningly beautiful church, to the rowdy reception, this wedding had it all. I’m so honored Jennifer trusted me to capture her most special day.
Jennifer and Ryan were married at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in the heart of Buckhead with a fabulously fun and energetic reception at the Chastain Horse Park.
Surrounded by family and friends.
And I think it’s safe to say that fun was had by all.
A very, very special thanks to Brooke Murphy, aka Shutterboo, for making the trek to Atlanta to second shoot with me. You rocked it out and I’m forever grateful.
I love it! Best wishes to Jennifer and Ryan – and be sure to tell them it was such a pleasure to meet them!! 🙂
What great photos of a beautiful bride and joyful ceremony. Best wishes to Jennifer and Ryan!
