a journey | experimenting in genres

A month or so ago I decided to start testing myself and my skills beyond my normal areas of photography.  With a little motivation and inspiration from an amazing photographer in Seattle, I decided I wanted to photograph high school seniors.  Seeing as I don’t have any high school seniors at my disposal, I asked a beautiful co-worker  if she’d be willing to lend herself to a mid-day shoot.  The whole thing was very fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants.  Since we only had our lunch break to do the session, I had to great creative on the location.  So we went to the basement of our parking garage…made friends, got a couple of stares, and even helped with directions.
Thank you for being patient while I post non-children and family photos.  Not to worry, those little smiling faces will be back on the blog next week.  In the meantime, enjoy.

Hello Friends

Welcome to Katie Oblinger Photography!

This is where you will find happiness, candid moments, real, unabashed love, genuine people and the occasional photo of my child.  This is where you can come to enjoy the moments families share.  The moments of pure joy.  The moments I hope you'll soon create for yourself. I'm so glad you are here.
