When you photograph a person for the first time, you can’t imagine that you’re going to witness them change and grow over the next few years. You don’t always envision them 6 years older. You tend to think of them in the here and now. That’s how I thought of Sidney when I photographed her all those years ago. I couldn’t have imagined that I would have been so lucky to photograph her through middle school then high school as she finishes up her senior year. But I have been that lucky.

She’s brilliant and kind and caring and talented and beautiful and has a smile that could light up a room. And wherever she ends up, that school and that town will be a better place because of Sidney. I’m so excited to see where she lands and what amazing things she will do.
