This was one of the first free weekends I’ve had in a very, very long time. So Ashley and I decided to take a family road trip up to Athens for the G-Day Game. Seeing this as an opportunity to introduce Camden to Georgia football, we packed up the car and hit the road. The most Camden has ever experienced in his short time here has been visiting his grandparents in Tuscaloosa and the occasional excursion to Costco and the grocery store. Amazingly enough, with that little travel experience under his belt, neither Ashley nor I were nervous about taking him to the game. What’s impressive is how well Camden handled it all.
We started off downtown…hit up one of my old school favorites, Helix, where we bought Camden his first Star Wars book. Then we headed down to the Grill for lunch. One of my dearest and oldest friends met up with us, but of course, being the space cadet I am, I forgot to take pictures…yeap, I’m a brainiac. And thanks to a previous request by my sweet friend Allie, we took some pictures of Camden in front of the arches on campus, making sure that none of us walked under them. Then we packed Camden up in the Baby Bjorn and headed down to the game. Okay, so we may have only lasted about 45 minutes, but all in all, we had an absolutely fantastic day. It’s so rare that I get to visit Athens, that being able to take my husband and my boy made the day sublimely perfect. These are the moments that mean the most. And that is why I will always lug my camera with me…wherever I go.
Yay! Pictures of the hubby!!! 🙂
I take beck a lot of places, and considered taking him to the A-day game in Tuscaloosa on Saturday… But I don’t think mom is ready for that kind of adventure yet!
So sweet. I missed our spring football game. But I cannot wait for the fall season to start!!!
Oh, Katie, these photos are so happy, they’re bringing tears to my eyes!! What a great family!!!
And i love his shirt!!!
Oh, gosh, what fun pictures of Camden and his dad. Both looked sublimely happy. I, without doubt, know you were giddy with joy!I love the fact that Ashley, and now Camden, are huge fans of Georgia. You three will have so many fun days like this in the future. I watch the Alabama kids who are such avid aficionados. They love every minute of being on the quad, in the stands and skyboxes, and simply wearing their jerseys and t-shirts. I see all of that in Camden’s future (Georgia being the team of choice!) It’s a great tradition and I’m really glad you and Ashley have chosen that tradition to follow. Lots of fun in the future for the whole family. By the way, the pictures are fabulous. You get better with each shot. Thank Ashley for the one of you and “little man”. I still love to see your pretty face!
As usual, you’ve outdone yourself. How can you not be happy when you look at all your pix! Makes me wish I had taken more pictures when you and Jen were little tykes. Keep up the good work! Oh, btw, how did Camden react to the crowd at Sanford?
