Mini vs. Full Family Photo Sessions: What’s the Difference?

If you’ve ever wondered, Do I need a full session… or will a mini do the trick? — you’re not alone. Here’s a quick breakdown to help you choose what’s best for your family.

Mini Sessions:

  • 20 minutes
  • Great for quick holiday photos or milestone updates
  • Limited locations and dates (Spring and Fall)
  • Ideal if you have young kids (with short attention spans) or just want a few great shots

Full Sessions:

  • 60 minutes
  • More time to warm up and get candid, emotional moments + posed shots
  • Flexible scheduling and locations
  • Great for relaxed, take your time moments and for storytelling-style images

Still not sure? Think about what you want to remember. If you’re just capturing a moment, minis are great. If you’re telling the story of your family in this season of life — trust me, a full session is the way to go.

Confused about mini vs full sessions? This simple breakdown helps you choose what’s best for your family photos.
