Family sessions definitely don’t have to be stressful — but I totally get it, they can feel that way. The time you put into the planning, the outfits, the general prep for your kids and yourself. It can feel overwhelming. So let me make it easier for you! After years of photographing families, here are the top 3 things that could go sideways (but they won’t because I’ve got you covered!):

1. Choosing outfits last-minute
Family photos can already be super stressful. Take the guesswork out of it. When you’re rushed, it can show. And life is already too stressful. (Family photos shouldn’t be.) Lay things out a few days ahead, choose comfy pieces, clothes that make you and your kids feel like themselves, and focus on complementary looks and less matching.
2. Skipping snacks or naps
Tired or hungry (hangry) kids (and let’s be honest — adults) have a tough time relaxing. Plan around rest, and bring easy snacks just in case. Breaks are always welcome during a session. 🙂
3. Stressing about perfection
The best photos aren’t perfect — they’re real. It’s okay to let go of the idea that everyone has to smile at the same time. I’ll guide you, prompt you, and we’ll get the magic. Some of my most favorite shots are honest, real, and wildly entertaining.
I’m here to make this fun, not forced. So leave your worries behind. That’s when the best photos just naturally happen. ♥
