If you were to ask me where the last 5 years have gone, I’m not entirely sure I could tell you. I mean just yesterday we were “those” parents driving our new baby boy home from the hospital. You know those parents- terrified, doe eyed, and utterly clueless. That was us. And then we blinked and we were sending our baby to his first day of Kindergarten. Bed-head and all. And so far, we’ve survived relatively unscathed. There are a few bruises, mending scars, and some hurt feelings, but we are making it one day at a time.
He took to elementary school like a champ. I, on the other hand, am still struggling with it. But seeing him with all of his new friends I consider him incredibly lucky. And I know that in time I’ll look back on these photos of his first official bus ride and I’ll be smiling from ear to ear instead of feeling those weepy feels. He’s growing up….that’s a fact. I just wouldn’t mind if he’d slow down a bit.
Welcome to the next chapter.
